Adult Programs
Our adult programs help learners build confidence, independence, and practical skills for work, school, and everyday life. Through personalized tutoring and group workshops, adults strengthen literacy, digital, and life skills in a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone can learn at their own pace.



One-on-One Tutoring & Support
Focusing on the individual learning needs of each student, QCRC’s tutoring program provides one-on-one support in the following areas:
- Reading, writing, and comprehension
- Navigating computers and mobile devices
- Using email and online meeting applications
- Assistance filling out forms
Registrations open each September and are ongoing throughout the year.

Skills Building Lab
QCRC’s Skills Building Lab (SBL), offers workshops specifically created for younger adult learners aged 16 – 40, to build practical skills for work, and daily life. Each year, we develop adult programs based on learners’ needs and interests; content may be subject to change depending on demand. We actively partner with provincial and federal literacy organizations on various initiatives that keep our community informed, connected and engaged.
Workshops exploring the following topics are currently offered:
- Self-Motivation and Goal Setting
- Overcoming Procrastination and Positive HabitBuilding
- Memory Retention and Test Taking Strategies
- Note Taking & Study Skills
- Resume Building & Interview Preparation
- The Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence
Workshops run from October to December and February to May each year.
SBL: Workshops for Organizations
Are you a member of a community organization, school, or business seeking to offer literacy and lifelong learning opportunities to your students, clients or team? QCRC can come to you and deliver engaging workshops that support learning in your space.
